It was just a few weeks ago that I sent an end of the year note with a list of all that Jobsite was able to accomplish in 2013 with your help. Here I am again, gushing like a fool over the unprecedented success that we are enjoying just a month into 2014.
With our final weekend of performances still remaining, The Hound of the Baskervilles is our most successful show to date at the box office. That record was just set at the beginning of the season by Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Macbeth just barely missed it in November. This three-show run now represents the best we’ve ever had in terms of getting people into the theater, easily guaranteeing that this will be our best season ever (and we’re only halfway through!).
Tickets still remain to all four performances this week, but we fully expect Fri. – Sun. to sell out ahead of the day of show. Please get your tickets in advance (Sat. will easily be the first to sell out) if you plan on coming. We hate turning people away at the door. Thursday is the only night we expect rush seats to be available for those who qualify (50% off for students, senior citizens, military and Theatre Tampa Bay members as of 7:30 at the window with cash and valid ID), but that could quickly change.
We hope that one of our next offerings – Crimes of the Heart, All New People, or Inventing Van Gogh – quickly comes along and knocks off Baskervilles as #1, because that will mean we’re still growing, getting better, and reaching more and more great people like you. Records are meant to be broken.
As always, thanks for everything! If you have the time or inclination, a last-minute message to friends that Baskervilles closes Sunday just might help ensure we sell every single seat for this final week! Thanks in advance if you’re able to help spread the word!
