Saturday, April 11, was scheduled to be The Florida Björkestra‘s 3rd Annual Buffyfest, a day-long happening at the Palladium in St. Pete honoring everyone’s favorite teen vampire slayer. The capstone of Buffyfest is a performance by the full TFB ensemble of a bajillionty musicians fronted by some of your favorite regional singers to do a live version of the Buffy musical episode, “Once More with Feeling.” We believe that we have 7 ensemble members as part of this super-group. Additionally, the set-up to “OMwF” this year was Spencer Meyers and David M. Jenkins starring in a live version of another Joss Whedon fan-favorite, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.
Well, clearly that didn’t happen.
TFB mastermind (and resident Jobsite composer/music director) Jeremy Douglass cannot be stopped. So he took things into his own hands to at least offer this: 26 artists all working in isolation to perform the song “Walk Through the Fire.” Enjoy, we sure did.
If you missed TFB-Jobsite team-up on a rousing version of ‘Thunderdome,’ you can see it here.
If you are enjoying the content Jobsite, our artists, and our friends are creating in this difficult time, we urge you considering making a donation to Jobsite and, in this particular case, Venmoing a ‘tip’ to @The-Florida-Bjorkestra. All monies sent via Venmo to TFB will be split up evenly among all of the artists who put the video together. Donations to Jobsite during this crisis will help ensure that we can proceed with our 2020-21 season with no compromises, producing to the best of our ability while paying our artists every dime possible.
