We have four more performances left of Tim Robbin’s political drama-satire Embedded. Thu. – Sat. at 8pm and Sun. at 4pm. We cannot hold the show over due to needing to get the space set up for Blackbird, which opens on Sept. 11.
If you’ve already been out – thank you! Can we ask you for a favor?
Can you please help us out by steering any of your friends our way? We would really appreciate your word of mouth support – be it in the form of a phone call, an email, a social networking post or a conversation over coffee. Again and again, people cite a friend’s referral as the number one motivator to get out and see a show. If you want to post a Jobsite widget on your website, go here. You can even leave it there and it will update itself with our newest show.
If you haven’t been, is there any chance of talking you into it? You can go here and read reviews from the major papers in the area as well as comments from season ticket holders and single ticket buyers. You can also watch videos there, including a rehearsal video with the character masks, the TV commercial and appearances on Media Talk and Flashpoint.
Shawn and I could not be more proud of this show and are infinitely grateful for the reception it’s had. Sunday’s show was amazing – we had to add around 10 more chairs to the room to take care of some seating emergencies for VIPs and season ticket holders, and still turned away at least another dozen people at the door.
If you are a person that just can’t make a commitment and would prefer to walk up and buy a ticket right before the show, my best recommendation is to come Thu. The rest of the weekend has a tendency to move very fast within 48 hours of curtain. Keep in mind there’s also a $10 student/senior/military rush offer available as of 30 minutes to show with cash and a valid ID. Thu. is likely your best bet to take advantage of that, too.
This is always the challenge – get as many people in while there’s a chance. Once we close a show it’s gone. There’s no release to DVD, it’s extremely rare for us to bring a show back (extremely), and the comment that’s perhaps the most maddening to ever here for us in this business is “Oh, I missed that show. I really wanted to see it, I heard great things. I’ll try to catch your next show.” You hear that, or the hundreds of variants to it, enough times and you’d like to pull your hair around while running around in a circle screaming.
If you can help it at all, don’t let that be the case this time around. This is our last shot at getting this show in front of people. Make a plan. I assure you it’s worth your time and money.
LOL: An Evening with Mr. FunnyBlackMan
We also have two performances remaining of this Job-side Project. LOL is a hilarious evening of stand-up from one of funniest and most intelligent comics I know. Make a double feature of it and Embedded. The bar is open in front of the theater in between shows. Support your local artists!
Great season ticket news!
We’re now officially sold out of opening Saturday night season tickets for 0809. Saturday night is of course always our most popular night, but now we know for a fact every show in the 0809 season is guaranteed to have a completely sold out opening Saturday. Any new season ticket orders we get for Saturday will be filled into the second Saturday. Jobsite is now 22% ahead of our 0708 season ticket numbers, and we will have this campaign alive and well at least through our second production, The History of the Devil. There’s still time if you’d like to get in on some awesome Jobsitey season ticket goodness. Save 20% off the cost of your tickets, and a boat load of money in fees since you only pay a one-time handling fee instead of per-ticket service charges!
