Monica Merryman
Monica Merryman is making her first appearance in the Tampa Bay Area in Jobsite’s production of The Goat. Past regional credits include Gertrude in American Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Blanche in Theatre by the Sea’s Streetcar, and Anne in Death of Zukasky for Actor’s Theatre of Louisville. Favorites from many appearances for Boston’s Huntington Theatre include Yelena in Uncle Vanya and Eliante in The Misanthrope. Alaska Repertory provided the opportunity to play Liz Imbrie in Philadelphia Story and Maggie in The Man Who Came to Dinner, and at the Pittsburgh Public she premiered Tangles and played Estelle in Father’s Day. Among others, she performed Varya in The Cherry Orchard for Cincinnati Playhouse. Ms. Merryman began her regional career at the Indiana Repertory, as Emily in Our Town. Off Broadway credits include a 3-year run in Vanities at the Chelsea Westside Arts, and plays for the Cherry Lane, Manhattan Theatre Club, New Theatre of Brooklyn and Lion Theatre Company. She appeared in the Television films And Your Name is Jonah, and Playing for Time. A veteran of dozens of commercials, Ms. Merryman received a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Michigan University, and trained in NY with Uta Hagen and William Esper.
