Jobsite is a critical part of Tampa Bay’s arts and culture with a growing national reputation. Jobsite is the resident professional theater company of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, one of the largest in the country. The Assistant to the Producing Artistic Director position with Jobsite offers the opportunity to assist David M. While witnessing and assisting first-hand the work performed by a leader of an award-winning and critically-lauded organization, the Assistant will be expected to take on a variety of tasks associated with non-profit theater management, including (but not limited to) general correspondence, copy writing, database management, filing, online research, grant writing, activity and event coordination, special events, fundraising, mailings and special invitations, social media, and rehearsal/production assistance.
This position requires a tenacious and creative mind able to think quickly and propose innovative solutions to any situation. This person also must be detail-oriented, able to carefully follow instructions, and have the work ethic to accomplish tasks independent of direct oversight. During the time frame of the opportunity, the Assistant will have the chance to watch and assist Jobsite staff with the administration of our literary submission process, the Job-side Project series, our producing partnership with the Tampa International Fringe Festival, and our mainstage season.

Stipends will be made available to any Assistant taking on greater commitments within the mainstage season while apprenticing.
Jobsite is an organization experiencing explosive growth, and the Assistant to the Producing Artistic Director position is one that the company plans to develop into a full or part time paid position within the next few years. Apprentices to this position will also be assisting us in the creation of a job description and set of duties for this position. Successful apprentices will be eligible for consideration for this paid post once it is made available.
