Michael C. McGreevy – Ensemble Member, stock “big, intimidating guy”
Age: 33
Born, raised and still livin’ large in: St. Petersburg, Florida
First Jobsite appearance: MAXWELL: A New Rock Musical By Joe Popp (Gerhardt Maxwell/Maxwell Machine Unit 1A)
Favorite Jobsite role: That would have to be a toss up between Playing with Fire: After Frankenstein and The Boys Next Door. Both of my characters in those shows were characters that, played wrong, could have been big mockeries of themselves. I put a lot of work into making them seem “real,” and from what I can tell I managed to do that.
Upcoming projects: We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay! as Luigi
Dependents: I live with my fiancee Krystalle, her son Jareth and my son Alexander.
Top 3 books: The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
Top 3 films: Army of Darkness, Moulin Rouge, Amadeus
Top 3 bands: They Might Be Giants, Warren Zevon, Social Distortion
Favorite quote: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Favorite haunts: Ricky T’s Sports Bar on Treasure Island. Above and beyond the fact that my Mom works there on the day shift, the place has phenomenal food. Try the cheese sticks if you go. Or, I should say, the fried cheese logs. I’m also a pretty big fan of The Castle, our local goth bar here in Ybor City. If you’re into healthy foods and all that fun hippie stuff, you can’t go wrong with Nature’s Finest on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, and when you’re done there you can pop across the street to The Record Exchange or Asylum for good tunes. If you like Greek food, I’m a huge fan of Athenian Gardens.
Hobbies: I’m a Guild Leader in the Massively Multi-Player Online Role Playing Game World of Warcraft (which means, for those of you who aren’t incredibly big geeks like me, that I spend way too much time playing video games). I read comics, and I’m a pretty big Star Trek fan (although I’ve never done the whole dress up thing).
Hero: I’d have to go with my Father here. Much of what I do in my life is done with the hope that he would of be proud of me. The fact that he was able to so radically turn his life around before he passed away taught me that, no matter how bad things get, there’s always a way to turn them around.
Parting shot: I can honestly say that working with Jobsite has been one of the high points of my adult life. I’ve gotten immense satisfaction from every show I’ve done here, and it’s helped me discover a part of my life that at one point I thought was completely over. I’ve made some wonderful friends here, as well. It’s truly been a blessing, and I’m looking forward to a lot more in the future!
