Immediate Casting Opportunity

CASTING NOTICE: Jobsite has an immediate opening for an energetic, versatile, funny, fearless, and quick-witted 18+ actor of any ethnicity or gender identity (we hear You Know Who hates that) with *strong* impersonation skills for PUFFS: Or, Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic. Non-union, competitive professional bi-weekly wage with built-in profit share for all artists. 8 week contract starting June 10. We cannot provide travel, housing, or per diem — this contract is intended for a local artist or someone with their own local housing.

ERNIE MAC and A VERY TALL MAN / SEAMUS / A CERTAIN POTIONS TEACHER / PROFESSOR TURBAN / GHOST HISTORY TEACH / PROFESSOR LOCKY / MR. NICK / SAL / SECOND HEADMASTER / REAL MR. MOODY. This track requires an actor with strong comedic ability capable of doing multiple impressions. Ernie Mac: Proud. Loud. Pretty sure he’s the best. Teachers: identifiable impressions of Rickman/Branagh/Gleeson/WhomeverPlayedQuirrell. All members of the company will appear as a Death Buddy at some point.

Rehearsals for PUFFS begin June 10, 2025. Tue. – Thu. evenings 6:30-10:30 and weekend afternoons 1-5. The actor must be available for a half hour between noon to 8pm on Fri., April 25, for a photo shoot. Rehearsal conflicts may not be able to be accommodated and must be disclosed at submission. Shows are July 9 – Aug. 3, 2025. Thu. – Sat. 7:30, Sun. 2pm. 7:30 preview Wed., July 9. Performers must hold for possible added shows Wed. 7:30 and Sat. 2pm during the run.

Video submissions are being accepted through Sat., Apr. 19, at 5pm but actors are encouraged to submit ASAP: we will review materials in real time and may make an offer as soon as the ideal candidate presents. The submission should include a contemporary comic monologue followed by short impersonations of the 4 film actors listed above. A link to the video and a single PDF containing a headshot and resume named after the performer (no direct video file attachments or separate word doc and photo files, please) should be mailed to artisticdirector@jobsitetheater.org.
