Greg Thompson
Greg Thompson has worked on Tampa Bay area stages in productions of The Underpants and Inventing Van Gogh (Jobsite); A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, and Hamlet (St. Petersburg Shakespeare Festival); Judgement at Nuremberg, Blithe Spirit, Broadway Bound and Last of the Red Hot Lovers (Stageworks); Children of a Lesser God (Theater Exceptional); Betrayal and Cat on A Hot Tin Roof (Tampa Rep); Bethany (TR2); Bones (Silver Meteor Gallery); Southern Exposures (HCC, Ybor); Proof (Carrollwood Players); and Hamlet (New Stage). Greg also directed, and originated the role of Matthew, in East Lansing, winner of the 2014 Tampa Bay Theater Festival for Full Length Play. Other theatre credits include writing and directing An Evangelist Drowns, also adapting and directing productions of Richard III, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest and Much Ado About Nothing. If this acting thing doesn’t work out, Greg has a PhD in Interdisciplinary Humanities and Master’s degrees in Religious Studies and in Theater Studies to fall back on.
