Jobsite Theater has been producing quality full-length traditional productions as well as playfully liberal adaptations of the Bard’s work since 2001. This Tempest aims to highlight the magical and fantastical aspects of storytelling, inviting audiences to join us on a deserted island where an exiled woman waits. But this is no ordinary woman, nor an ordinary island. She is a magician, able to control the very elements and bend nature to her will. When the vessel carrying those who wronged her appears in the distance, she creates a vast magical storm to bring them to her – then they awake finding themselves in a place where nothing is as it seems.
In addition to the 17 regularly-scheduled mainstage performances, Jobsite is offering a dozen weekday matinees for area middle and high schools. Jobsite has a study guide ready for all schools, teaching artists available for pre and post-show in-school visits, an a myriad of opportunities for backstage tours and Q&A sessions after those special performances.
